Our Mission
Christ the King Catholic School is a Catholic, co-educational school for students in preschool (three years of age) through eighth grade. Children of all faiths are welcome. Our school is located in the heart of University City, Missouri and is accredited by the National Federation of Non-Public School State Accrediting Association.
We are a community of students, teachers, and parents working together to develop lifelong learners through rigorous, relevant curriculum and gospel values. Our Catholic faith is central to everything we do at Christ the King. Religious instruction provides our students with a foundation focusing on the example of Jesus and the teachings of the Church, complementing the faith formation begun at home. Religious education begins in preschool and continues throughout the students’ experience at Christ the King.
“Our school community represents and reflects the face and the shape and the dimension the character of University City. We not only pray together, but we play together. We live and work together and that’s the secret to our success. Success rests upon our students being able to care for one another and share with one another and build this community up together.”

The Experience
90+ years after Christ the King’ School’s inception, Msgr. Mike Turek and Principal Ms. Caroline McCarthy lead a faculty of enthusiastic and skilled teachers committed to helping each student reach their full potential.
Christ the King parents and students report that they are well prepared for the transition from elementary school into high school and beyond. CKS students are consistently accepted into their high school of choice and graduates go on to attend some of the best Catholic high schools in the St. Louis area.
